Bir Mourad Rais, October 6, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, held a working meeting with the Director General of Algérie Télécom Satellite (ATS), Toufik Hantabli, and his management team, with the aim of exploring the establishment of a strategic alliance in the field of satellite telecommunications.
The meeting allowed for the identification of specific areas of technological cooperation and business opportunities for Argentine companies in the sector, given the long-standing business ties between our countries.
The Algerian delegation was composed of Youcef Bouayad (Commercial Manager), Boudjemaa Damache (Chief of Staff), and Rabah Ait Ahcene (Head of Operations and Support). Ambassador Berardi and the head of the Economic and Commercial Section represented the Argentine Embassy.
Cooperation Agreements and Implementation Mechanisms
During the meeting, the Director General of ATS expressed his willingness to establish a mutually beneficial partnership based on technical and training complementarity.
It was agreed to implement a work program that will include organizing workshops and virtual technical meetings with Argentine telecommunications companies, including agritech and the oil industry.
ATS representatives expressed particular interest in Argentina's satellite tracking capabilities for agricultural and livestock applications, as well as satellite mapping for mining use.
The Algerian company, which currently manages the ground infrastructure for interacting with the Algerian Space Agency's satellites, is in the process of renewing its satellite fleet, which represents concrete opportunities for Argentine firms specializing in technological solutions and integration services.
