Argentine Embassy Promotes Cooperation Between Agricultural Fair Organizers

Algiers, March 31, 2026 – Within the framework of the work carried out by the Argentine Embassy in Algeria to deepen agricultural ties between both countries, a videoconference was organized between the main leaders of the agro-industrial sector of Argentina and Algeria.

Participating in the meeting on the Argentine side were Ms. Marita Bonilla, Exhibitions Manager of La Rural SA, and Mr. Raúl Roccatagliata, Head of International Affairs and Trade of the same institution, along with other members of their management team. On the Algerian side, Dr. Amine Bensemmane, President of SIPSA and the FILAHA Foundation, attended, together with Ms. Katia Yata, General Coordinator of the Fair.

The purpose of the videoconference was to initiate an institutional collaboration agenda, explore future visits and bilateral missions, and move towards a cooperation agreement between both fair organizations. The dialogue responds to the reciprocal interest expressed by SIPSA authorities during the meeting held at the beginning of the year.

The context of this meeting occurs as Algeria has achieved notable progress in the agricultural sector thanks to strategic programs that have strengthened its food security, modern irrigation systems, and sustainable practices. Argentina, for its part, has consolidated productive sectors, cutting-edge technological capabilities, satellite and agro-industrial solutions, as well as a reliable supply of food such as powdered milk, corn, and wheat.

This joint work opens new opportunities for agro-industrial development and knowledge exchange between both countries, consolidating a strategic bridge in a sector of growing bilateral relevance.
