Algiers, June 21, 2025 – The Argentine Embassy in Algeria successfully concluded the Argentine Culture Week, which took place from June 15 to 19 in the Algerian capital. The event featured a varied cultural program that allowed the best of contemporary Argentine artistic production to be shared with the local community.
The program included a film series featuring four representative films of current Argentine cinema: "El Jockey," "Martín García," "Billinghurst," and "Lluvia." These productions showcased the thematic diversity and narrative quality that characterizes Argentine cinema, offering the Algerian public a window into the reality and creativity of the South American country.
As part of the highlights, a virtual meeting was held with renowned academic Santiago de Luca, who gave a lecture entitled "The Borgesian Dimension: A Universal Will." The lecture provided a deeper understanding of the work of writer Jorge Luis Borges, a fundamental figure in world literature and an emblem of Argentine culture. The event enjoyed valuable collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes in Algiers and the Spanish Embassy, whose support was essential to the success of this cultural initiative.
Argentine Culture Week strengthened the cultural ties between the two countries and showcased the richness and diversity of the contemporary Argentine cultural scene, consolidating Argentina's presence in the Algerian cultural sphere.
