Algiers, September 11, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, along with members of the diplomatic team, held a working meeting with the Director General of the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL), Mr. Azzedine Oussedik, and the institution's managers.
The meeting aimed to strengthen the bilateral cooperation agenda in strategic space and technological areas.
During the meeting, the Argentine delegation highlighted the country's extensive experience and cutting-edge developments in various specialized areas, including hyperspectral image analysis, radar technology and its applications, mineral prospecting and soil studies, tele-epidemiology, and satellite precision agriculture, among others. These technical capabilities represent concrete opportunities for bilateral cooperation with Algeria.
This meeting constitutes a significant first step toward expanding collaboration with Algeria in the space sector, which simultaneously consolidates Argentina's technological presence in Africa and opens up new opportunities for South-South cooperation.
In this regard, it is worth mentioning that both the National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE) and INVAP, an Argentine technology company, have a significant history of joint work in Algeria, providing a solid foundation for the development of future collaborative projects.
The meeting reflects both countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral ties through knowledge transfer and the joint development of space technologies with concrete applications for economic and social development.
