Algiers, December 7, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, represented the country at the fourth edition of the African Startup Conference (ASC2025), a key forum for African economic integration in the innovation and technology entrepreneurship sector. The event took place at the International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers, organized by the Algeria Venture accelerator under the theme "For the Emergence of African Champions."
The three-day conference was co-organized by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Microenterprises and brought together more than 25,000 participants, 35 ministerial delegations, approximately 200 exhibitors from Africa and other regions, and more than 300 international experts. The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Algerian government, led by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, representatives of national and international institutions, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria, ministers, and representatives from the continent's innovation and startup sectors.
Since its first edition, launched at Algeria's initiative, this conference has established itself as a key event in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, confirming its status as a platform that contributes to building a competitive and inclusive technology ecosystem in Africa. This edition was distinguished by the selection of Rwanda as the guest of honor, in recognition of the remarkable progress made by this nation in innovation.
Impact on the African Innovation Ecosystem
The conference is expected to have a significant impact on three crucial pillars for the growth of startups in Africa: financing, skills development, and market access. The presence of investors, sovereign wealth funds, and financial institutions at the event will unlock new financing channels tailored to the continent's specific needs.
The event also facilitated the strengthening of business capabilities and support structures through training sessions led by African and international experts. These sessions focused on international expansion, growth strategies, and market entry tactics. The organizers consider this meeting a valuable opportunity for the exchange of continental knowledge and the establishment of sustainable partnerships.
Argentine Participation and Future Opportunities
