Algiers, June 14, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, led a strategic meeting with representatives of MADAR Holding, along with delegates from UNEP and Global Agri-Food, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in agroindustrial matters and food security.
The meeting, held at MADAR Holding's headquarters in Algiers, established the foundation for a strategic collaboration that leverages the complementary capabilities of both countries. During the meeting, topics of cooperation in livestock and aquaculture, as well as the development of agri-food logistics and the exchange of technology and specialized knowledge were discussed.
Algeria is currently promoting important initiatives to strengthen its food security, an area in which Argentina can contribute its recognized expertise in excellent animal genetics and advanced agroindustrial technology. This complementarity generates significant trade opportunities for both countries.
As a result of the discussions, it was agreed to move toward the finalization of specific agreements in the short term. For the 2025-2026 period, the organization of specialized technical missions and the formalization of cooperation agreements will be explored to realize the benefits of this strategic alliance.
The participation of representatives from UNEP and Global Agri-Food in the dialogue reinforces the commitment of both nations to the development of sustainable and resilient food systems, aligned with the global objectives of food security and agricultural development.
