Algiers, May 30, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, held a working meeting with Mohamed Yazid, President of the Algerian National Chamber of Agriculture, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agroindustrial sector and exploring new export opportunities for Argentine products and technologies.
The meeting allowed for the identification of specific areas of economic complementarity between the two countries, leveraging Argentina's experience and technological capabilities in the agricultural sector.
Priority Sectors for Argentine Exports
During the meeting, four areas with high export potential were highlighted:
- Agricultural Machinery: Export of tractors, combine harvesters, and specialized equipment for agricultural mechanization
- Efficient Irrigation Systems: Precision irrigation technologies and water management systems
- Storage Technology: Innovative silo bag solutions for grain conservation
- Precision Agriculture: Implementation of direct seeding systems and technologies for yield optimization
Regional Positioning Strategy
This initiative is part of Argentina's strategy to consolidate its position as a leading provider of agroindustrial technology on the African continent, capitalizing on the country's recognized experience in agricultural development and the growing demand for technological solutions in the Algerian agricultural sector.
Next Steps
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to establish a technical working group to identify specifications and requirements for the Algerian market. Initiatives were also exchanged to organize a specialized webinar with Argentine companies in the agricultural machinery sector in the near future. Among other possibilities, the meeting considered scheduling a virtual mission of Argentine technology companies to present solutions tailored to the local market and develop a demonstration program for Argentine technologies in Algeria.
