Algiers, April 15, 2025 – As part of the agenda for diversifying bilateral economic relations, Ambassador Atilio Berardi held a working meeting with Rachid Madi, the CEO of Algeria Venture, the main startup accelerator in the Maghreb country.
The meeting established the guidelines for a joint roadmap aimed at promoting cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship, laying the foundation for the creation of an integrated technological ecosystem between the two nations.
Strategic Areas of Collaboration
The agreed-upon work plan for the future includes four key areas of cooperation:
-Knowledge exchange: Implementation of cross-mentoring programs between Argentine and Algerian entrepreneurs to facilitate the transfer of know-how and best practices.
-Collaborative technological development: Promotion of joint projects in priority sectors such as agritechnology, renewable energy, and digital transformation.
-Trade facilitation: Creation of mechanisms to expedite the internationalization of technology-based startups and SMEs from both countries.
-Joint promotion: Organization of technology missions and bilateral investment rounds.
Argentina's competitive advantages
Argentina presents itself as a strategic partner in this initiative thanks to its recognized track record in the development of innovative technologies, standing out for having the most developed entrepreneurial ecosystem in Latin America, with more than 1,500 startups and 10 unicorn companies. Furthermore, it is the second-largest global hub for the development of agricultural technology (AgTech). Argentina also has significant capabilities in the clean energy sector, being the world's fourth-largest producer of lithium and with advanced projects in green hydrogen and nuclear energy.
Algerie Venture complements this alliance with its expertise in startup acceleration, the promotion of corporate open innovation, and its extensive network of connections with international investors and experts throughout Africa.
This partnership represents a significant first step in building a modern and innovative bilateral agenda, aimed at capitalizing on the opportunities of the knowledge economy.
