Ambassador Atilio Berardi Meets with CAP to Discuss Business Cooperation Agenda

Algiers, December 1, 2025 – Ambassador Atilio Berardi, accompanied by officials from the Economic and Commercial Section of the Argentine Embassy in Algeria, held a strategic meeting with President Tahar Bouzid and the management team of the Algerian Confederation of Employers (CAP), the main private sector representative of Algerian businesses.

The meeting aimed to foster a closer relationship between the private sectors of Argentina and Algeria, strengthening the institutional framework for bilateral trade.

Identification of Priority Sectors

During the meeting, sectors with high potential for bilateral cooperation were identified, including agri-food, energy, auto parts, pharmaceuticals, as well as textiles and tourism for future phases of collaboration. This analysis will allow efforts to be focused on areas with greater economic complementarity between the two countries.

Planned Collaborative Actions
It was agreed to implement a work program that will include business roundtables, bilateral trade missions, and direct collaboration between companies from both countries. As a formal framework for this cooperation, progress will be made toward signing a Memorandum of Understanding between representative institutions of the private sector.

This institutional dialogue represents a strategic step toward consolidating business alliances, identifying trade and investment opportunities, and deepening the economic relationship between Argentina and Algeria. Formalizing this cooperation through the CAP will allow for a more structured and efficient approach between the productive sectors of both countries.
