Algiers, June 28, 2026 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, led the inauguration of the Argentine pavilion at the 2026 Algiers International Fair (FIA), the most important economic and trade event on the African continent. For the third year in a row, Argentina took part in this trade fair platform, consolidating its return to Africa's main business stage.

The Argentine delegation, made up of representatives from key productive and technological sectors, drew significant interest from visitors, businesspeople, and international buyers, generating concrete opportunities for business, investment, and bilateral economic cooperation. The Argentine pavilion stood out in the international section of the fair for the quality and diversity of its exportable offerings, reflecting Argentina's growing position in the Algerian and North African market.

Fair Figures and Scale
The 2026 edition of FIA brought together 781 exhibitors in total, of which 579 were Algerian and 202 were international, representing 36 countries. The event covered an area of 35,347 square meters and featured Spain as the guest country of honor. These figures confirm FIA as the continent's most important trade fair, with a direct impact on trade flows and investment in the region.

Sectors of interest  
During the fair days, the sectors where Argentine offerings drew the most attention were agri‑food industries, the energy and petrochemical sector, mechanical industries and manufacturing, software and technological developments, as well as specialized agricultural services. Companies and representatives from these sectors held business meetings with Algerian importers, distributors, and potential trade partners, opening up prospects for diversifying national exports.

Argentina's participation in FIA 2026 represents a new step in the country's international projection in the African market, strengthening trade ties and economic cooperation with Algeria, Argentina's main trading partner on the continent. The interest shown by Algerian businesspeople and those from other countries present at the fair confirms the growth potential of bilateral exchanges and the positive perception of the quality and competitiveness of Argentine products and services.
