AFIC 2025: Argentina Expands Trade Horizons in Africa

Algiers, May 11, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, represented the country at the Africa Trade Forum 2025 (AFIC2025), the leading forum for African economic integration, bringing together government leaders, business leaders, and international trade experts from the continent's 54 countries.

The event, held at the Algiers Convention Center, served as a key platform for establishing trade alliances and identifying investment opportunities in the African market, which represents more than 1.3 billion consumers and a combined GDP of $2.9 trillion.

Argentina's participation in the forum allowed for the identification of priority areas for collaboration, taking into account the development agenda in emerging markets. In this regard, the African continent has some of the fastest-growing economies globally, with growth projected at 4.1% by 2025. The West and East African regions, in particular, are showing growing demand for international-quality products and services.

Regarding Argentina's exportable offering, concrete opportunities were identified in the following sectors:
- Agroindustry: Irrigation technology, agricultural machinery, and food processing
- Energy: Renewable energy, especially solar energy and green hydrogen
- Industrial Development: Manufacturing equipment and technology transfer

The forum enabled contacts with chambers of commerce from 12 African countries, facilitating the creation of strategic alliances for the integration of Argentine products into regional value chains.
