Algiers, May 30th 2026 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, met with the President and CEO of Tassili Travail Aérien (TTA), Mr. Samir Saidi, at the company's facilities at Algiers Airport to welcome the first group of Argentine pilots from AAXOD, a Córdoba-based company with over fifteen years of experience specializing in wildfire fighting.
Cooperation That Saves Forests and Farmland
AAXOD operates its own aircraft and Argentine pilots who will be deployed across Algerian territory. In the coming days, more pilots will arrive along with a fleet of state‑of‑the‑art water‑dropping planes, strengthening this North African country's ability to respond to wildfires.
A Well‑Established Agreement
The agreement has been renewed for two years with TTA, a subsidiary of the state‑owned oil company Sonatrach. TTA's CEO highlighted the excellent bilateral synergy achieved.
Thanks to highly trained pilots and an Argentine company with a proven track record, Argentina plays a vital role in protecting Algerian territory from fire.
This initiative is a concrete example of international cooperation that saves lives, protects ecosystems, and strengthens the bonds between both nations.
The presence of Argentine technology and talent in such a sensitive area as environmental emergency management reflects the high level of trust achieved in the bilateral relationship.
