Argentina and Algeria Explore Cooperation in Emergency Management

Algiers, September 15, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Algeria, Atilio Berardi, held a working meeting with the Director General of Civil Protection of Algeria, Boualem Bourelaf, as part of the Embassy's efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in risk management and emergency response.

During the meeting, Ambassador Berardi visited the National Civil Protection Coordination Center, where he learned in detail about the operations and protocols implemented by the Algerian agency for disaster management and the monitoring of operational interventions. The visit also included a tour of the National Civil Protection Museum, which provided an insight into the historical evolution and development of this institution's technical capabilities.

This initiative is part of the Argentine Embassy's active commitment to promoting the exchange of knowledge and best practices between specialized institutions in both countries. Cooperation in civil protection represents an opportunity to share experiences and strengthen emergency response capabilities, benefiting both nations.

The meeting identified potential areas for technical collaboration and joint training, laying the groundwork for future cooperation agreements in this strategic area for the security of both populations.
